Why Functional Academics?
Many children and young adults with special needs struggle to connect what they learn in school with what they need in real life.

Functional Academics bridges that gap.
It focuses on building real-world skills using basic reading, math, and thinking—so learners feel confident doing things like:

• Reading a medicine label
• Handling money at a shop
• Following a daily schedule
• Understanding signs and instructions

This kind of learning builds independence, confidence, and a sense of purpose—whether at home, school, or in the community.

Functional Academics Program Overview:

This 3-month course is specially designed for neurodiverse learners and children with special needs.Quarter 1 focuses on helping learners use basic literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills in their daily routines.Every concept is taught using visuals, step-by-step guidance, and real-life examples—making it easier for learners to understand, practice, and apply.

Course Duration & Schedule:

Dates: 14th July to 14th October 2025

• Live Classes: 3 times a week
• Each Class Duration: 40–45 minutes
• Mode: Online (Live + Recorded)
• Access: Weekly recordings, lesson PDFs, and homework tasks

What Your Child Will Learn during the program:

By the end of this quarter, your child will be able to:

• Read and recognize words on signs, labels, and everyday items
• Use money for simple activities like sorting, counting, or pretend shopping
• Read clocks, calendars, and use daily schedules
• Follow step-by-step instructions for basic home tasks
• Use reading and math in daily routines
• Make small independent choices with more confidence

Who This Course is For:

This course is ideal for:

• Learners with autism, Down syndrome, or developmental/intellectual delays
• Age criteria 8+ years with knowledge of basic concpets mentioned in prerequisites
• Children and young adults in special education, inclusive classrooms, or homeschooling
• Parents, educators, and therapists looking for real-life academic resource

Prerequisites:

Your child will benefit most if they can:

• Read or recognize simple words or symbols
• Count up to 20
• Follow 1–2 step instructions
• Focus for 5–10 minutes
• Have a parent, sibling, or facilitator to support them when needed
