🌟 Functional Academics – Quarter 2 (Decemeber 2025 – March, 2026)

Theme: Understanding the World Around Me – Time, Safety, and Smart Spending

💡 Why Functional Academics?

Many children and young adults with special needs struggle to connect what they learn in school with what they need in daily life.

Functional Academics bridges that gap — focusing on real-world learning through reading, math, and life skills so learners can confidently:
🕒 Read clocks and follow routines
💰 Handle money and make transactions
📖 Read signs, labels, and short passages
🚸 Recognize safety symbols and personal boundaries

This program helps build independence, confidence, and real-world understanding — essential for everyday life at home, school, and in the community.

🎯 About Quarter 2

This 3-month course continues from Quarter 1, focusing on Time, Safety, Smart Spending, and Growing Up.
Learners strengthen functional Math, English, and Life Skills through guided, visual, and hands-on lessons.

📚 Course Highlights

🧮 Math

• Multiplication – repeated addition, skip counting (2s, 3s, 5s, 10s)

• Division – sharing and simple word problems

• Time – reading clocks (hour, half-hour, quarter-hour), AM/PM

• Money Integration – making bills, counting totals, giving change

✏️ English/Language

• Comprehension – sequencing short stories/events (First–Then–Finally)

• Grammar – verbs (action words), adjectives (describing words)

• Vocabulary – time, safety, and daily-use words

💡 Life Skills

• Growing Up & Hygiene – understanding body changes (height, voice, menstruation, shaving), personal grooming

• Personal Safety & Boundaries – safe/unsafe touch, private body parts, saying “NO”, trusting adults

• Safety Signs & Labels – traffic lights, exit signs, hospital, product names & expiry dates

📅 Dates: 17th November 2025 – 4th March 2026
🧩 Live Classes: 3 times a week (40–45 minutes each)

✔ Count up to 20
✔ Follow 2–3 step instructions
✔ Attend with parent/facilitator support if needed
